Artha India Holdings Private Limited, together with Artha Venture Partners LLP and Artha Singularity Venture Partners LLP (collectively, the “Artha Group”), wishes to inform investors, portfolio companies, partners and the general public as follows:
The Artha Group has instituted legal proceedings before the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Madras against Artha99 AIF Investment Advisors LLP and its designated partners, for trade mark infringement and passing off arising from their unauthorised use of the “Artha” name and mark, including under the names “Artha99”, “a99”, “a99 VC” and the domain artha99.vc. [Artha India Holdings Private Limited & Ors. v. Artha99 AIF Investment Advisors LLP & Ors., C.S. (COMM DIV) No. 203 of 2026]
We wish to clarify that Artha99 AIF Investment Advisors LLP, and any fund, scheme or entity operating under the “Artha99” or “a99 VC” name, has no affiliation, association, or connection whatsoever with the Artha Group or any of its funds, including Artha Venture Fund I, Artha Select Fund, Artha Continuum Fund, or Artha Fund IV.
On 24.07.2026, the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Madras was pleased to grant ad-interim relief in favour of the Artha Group, in the aforementioned suit. The operative part of the order reads as follows:
“This Court is of the prima facie view that there has been an infringement of the trademark registered in favour of the applicant. In such view of the matter, there shall be an order of interim injunction as prayed for.”
The matter is sub judice before the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Madras.
We urge investors and members of the public dealing with any “Artha99” or “a99 VC” branded entity to exercise caution and independently verify its identity and affiliations before proceeding.
